Service award buckle (Anhalt-Köthen)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The service award buckle was donated together with the service award cross for officers on October 29, 1847 by Duke Heinrich von Anhalt-Köthen in three classes

  • 1st class for 21 years of service
  • II. Class for 15 years of service
  • III. Class for 9 years of service

Services performed in other German states could be taken into account. The time for taking part in campaigns was calculated twice.

All three classes consist of a sheet of brass strip covered with a light green ribbon on which a narrow metal plate is placed and soldered on the back. It shows the Anhalt coat of arms with the princely crown in the middle . On the left the initial H. (Heinrich) - later L. (Leopold) - and on the right the Roman numeral XXI. , XV. and IX. according to the respective classes.

After the merger of the Duchy of Anhalt-Köthen with the Duchy of Anhalt-Dessau to form the Duchy of Anhalt-Dessau-Köthen in 1853, the service award buckle was canceled on February 28, 1855.
