Dieter Dzewas

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dieter Dzewas (born September 21, 1955 in Lüdenscheid ) is a member of the SPD and since October 2004 mayor of the city of Lüdenscheid.

In the 14th legislative period from 1998 to 2002 he was a member of the German Bundestag (MdB). In the federal election of 2002 he ran again, but missed the re-entry due to a lower position in the list.

The list position would have made it possible to move into the German Bundestag as a successor in September / October 2004 . However, Dieter Dzewas ran as a mayoral candidate in the local election campaign. After his victory in the runoff election for mayor of the city of Lüdenscheid on October 10, 2004 against Friedrich Karl Schmidt ( CDU ), Dieter Dzewas decided not to move in and became mayor.

In the local elections on August 30, 2009 Dieter Dzewas was re-elected for a second term. He received 63.1 percent of the vote. With 68.3 percent of the vote, he was re-elected in 2014.
