Dieter Ebels (* 1955 in Duisburg ) is a German writer .

So far, Ebels has mainly written books about the history of his hometown. Original excerpts from his factual novel Helene - A War Childhood can now be found in the history textbooks of the Klett Verlag. His first crime thriller The Secret of Billriff was published in 2010. From 2016 he published children's books with the dragon Puper saber tooth.
