Dieter Finke (born March 11, 1960 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

After playing at FC Urbar and SV Metternich, Dieter Finke joined the Südwest Oberligisten Sportfreunde Eisbachtal in 1978 . In 1981 he moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for the Stuttgarter Kickers . He was immediately a regular in the team coached by Slobodan Cendic . He kept his regular place under Cendic's successors Jürgen Sundermann , Horst Buhtz and Dieter Renner . In his last season with the Kickers he reached the DFB Cup final with his club , which was lost to Hamburger SV with 1: 3.

In 1987 he went to SV Waldhof Mannheim in the Bundesliga after six years and a total of 211 competitive games for the Stuttgarter Kickers . There he had in 1988 against SV Darmstadt 98 in the relegation, which was successfully designed in the playoff after penalties. In 1989 he signed a contract with FC Homburg , also a first division club. In his first year at FCH, his club was relegated. The ascent was not to be successful until his departure in 1993 - from 1991 one was even involved in the relegation battle. From 1993 Finke ended his career at TuS Montabaur .
