Dieter Hoja

Dieter Hoja (born July 15, 1941 ) is a former German ice hockey player and coach. He is one of the few certified sports teachers in Germany.

At the age of 16, Dieter Hoja began his career in 1957 at TuS Eintracht Dortmund . When Eintracht dissolved, the defender moved to Düsseldorfer EG in 1965 , with whom he became German champion in 1967 . Then Hoja hit the coaching career. He began as a coach for the DEG youngsters and later became an association trainer. A long term of office at EC Deilinghofen in Iserlohn followed. There he stood behind the gang for the first time in the 1973/74 season. After an interlude at Duisburger SC , he returned to the Sauerland in December 1974 and stayed until 1978. He was promoted to the Bundesliga with the ECD . On October 22, 1979, he replaced Otto Schneitberger at the Cologne EC and led the team that had been German champions the year before to 6th place in the Bundesliga. After the end of the season, Hoja traveled to China as a coach instructor for three months. He performed the same task in the DEB . In 1982 he was used again as a "fireman" in Iserlohn. Ultimately, he could not prevent participation in the relegation round. In 1988, Hoja took over the second division EHC Westfalen Dortmund for one season.

His son Ralf was also a professional ice hockey player.
