Dietrich Bonhoeffer Church (Düsseldorf)
The Dietrich Bonhoeffer Church at Julius-Raschdorff-Strasse 6-10 in Düsseldorf-Garath was built from 1962 to 1965 by the architects Helmut Hentrich and Hubert Petschnigg .
description
The church was built as part of a Protestant church center with a community and youth hall on an octagonal floor plan. The four walls of the building are made of reinforced concrete with inner and outer cladding, these are angled at the corners and overlap each other. The entrances are located at the overlaps. The bell tower is free-standing and follows the same construction principle as the church: the walls are overlapping, the concrete walls are clad.
