A lock pick is a tool for non-violent opening of certain locks .

designation

In the 14th century were duplicate keys (also co , anal , thief key jokingly referred to as male name), such as Peterchen , Klaus or Kläuschen . It is assumed that with Dietrich the echo of "thief", with Peterchen the thought of Peter with the heavenly key played a role. The word has been used in German since the 15th century.

nature

The classic lock pick is a simple locking tool and is used to unlock tumbler locks and crew locks .
