Dietrich von Heymann (1985)

Dietrich von Heymann (born April 15, 1935 in Eisenach ) is a German Protestant theologian. He is considered the first theologian to present a comprehensive theory of church management.

Live and act

Although pastors and church authorities prefer the spiritual orientation of the church to rational decisions and actions, von Heymann makes it clear that and how in parishes and regional churches one can work and proceed from a rational point of view. This applies to personnel and financial management, to all planning, organization and control processes. In his work, those management instruments are presented and provided with practical examples that are otherwise used in industry, trade and craft.

From 1975 until his retirement in 2000 he was professor of Protestant theology at the University of Education in Freiburg im Breisgau. In his writings and lectures, he opened the boundaries of pedagogical teaching and research to philosophy, ethics and school management, right up to questions that deal with experiences in astrology.

Today von Heymann runs a naturopathic practice.
