It contains the essential functions of the " digital darkroom" , such as programs such as Adobe Lightroom and the like. a. Offer. In addition to the proprietary Canon RAW data, this RAW converter can also process any JPEG and TIFF images. These, however, have a limited range of functions.

Functions

DPP has functions for adjusting white balance , brightness, contrast, saturation and sharpness. There is also a trimming function, a rotation function, a simple stamp function, focus stacking and an HDR function. A module for reducing brightness and color noise is also integrated. It is also the only program so far that supports dual pixel RAW. For RAW photos taken with Canon lenses or cameras, physical image errors such as vignetting , distortion and chromatic aberration can be "calculated out". Third party lenses such as Sigma or Tamron are not supported.

Versions

DPP is updated and expanded regularly, several times a year. Updates will be posted on the Canon home page. DPP is included as a full version in the software package "EOS Digital Solution Disk Software", which is available on the Canon website and can be installed without using an original CD, but requires the serial number of a compatible Canon digital camera to be specified before downloading .
