Local network digital exchange

The digital switching center local network ( DIVO ) refers to a digital switching center in the local network . The term Wählamt is also common in Austria .

With the introduction of di gitalen V (DIV) determination technique in the 1980s the term was coined.

Since the restructuring of the telephone network of Deutsche Telekom O (switching unit area) used: in the 1990s instead of the term VE. Other names for this type of switching system are local exchange (OVSt) or local exchange (TVSt) .

When telephone network of Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone , the "systems EWSD " from the company Nokia Siemens Networks and S12 of the company Alcatel-Lucent (formerly SEL ) used.

Switching centers have the task of enabling telephone calls over the telephone network . A local exchange terminates the subscriber connection lines (TAL) via which the subscribers' terminals are connected to the DIVO.
