Dillon Serna (born March 25, 1994 in Brighton ) is an American football player who is used as a midfielder . He is currently under contract with the Colorado Rapids .

Career

Youth and amateur football

Serna played in the youth teams of the Colorado Rapids since 2009 . After high school, he played college football for a year on the University of Akron team .

Club career

On January 18, 2013 Serna signed a professional contract under the Homegrown Player Rule with the Colorado Rapids . He made his competitive debut on October 27, 2013 in a 3-0 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps . He scored his first goal of his professional career on April 26, 2014 in the 4-1 loss to the Seattle Sounders .

National team

Serna was part of the squad for the 2011 U-17 World Cup but did not play in any game during the tournament. Serna also played several games for the United States U-20 national team, but was not called up for the 2013 U-20 World Cup .
