Dimants Krišjānis
Dimants Krišjānis ( Russian Димантс Ютвальдович Кришьянис ; born September 15, 1960 in Riga , Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic ) is a former Soviet rower . He won an Olympic silver medal and three medals at world championships.
The 1.92 m tall Dimants Krišjānis from Dinamo Riga followed his brother in 1979 in the foursome with helmsman , the foursome with Artūrs Garonskis , Dzintars Krišjānis , Dimants Krišjānis, Žoržs Tikmers and helmsman Juris Bērziņš rowed to second place behind the 1979 world championships Foursome from the GDR. In the same line-up, the Latvians who started for the Soviet Union also won the silver medal at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow , again only the GDR foursome was ahead of them. With Viktor Omeljanowytsch for Garonskis, the Soviet four took third place behind the boats from the GDR and the USA at the 1981 World Championships . In 1982 the members of the 1981 four rowed eighth, behind the New Zealanders and the GDR eighth, the Soviet eighth won the bronze medal.
