Žoržs Tikmers ( Russian Жорж Янович Тикмерс ; born January 22, 1957 in Iecava , Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic ) is a former Soviet rower . He won an Olympic silver medal and four medals at world championships.

Tikmers from Dinamo Riga won the bronze medal with the eighth at the Junior World Championships in 1975 . In the adult class, he took fourth place in the four-man team at the 1977 World Championships . The foursome with Artūrs Garonskis , Dzintars Krišjānis , Dimants Krišjānis , Žoržs Tikmers and helmsman Juris Bērziņš rowed to second place behind the foursome from the GDR at the 1979 World Championships . In the same line-up, the Latvians who started for the Soviet Union also won the silver medal at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow , again only the GDR foursome was ahead of them. With Viktor Omeljanowytsch for Garonskis, the Soviet four took third place behind the boats from the GDR and the USA at the 1981 World Championships . In 1982 the members of the 1981 four rowed eighth, behind the New Zealanders and the GDR eighth, the Soviet eighth won the bronze medal. In 1983, Tikmers formed a new four-man without a helmsman with the brothers Nikolai and Juri Pimenow and Alexander Kulagin , who won the silver medal behind the German four-man at the 1983 World Championships .
