Richard T. Heffron

Richard T. Heffron (born October 6, 1930 in Chicago ; died August 27, 2007 in Seattle ) was an American film and television director .

Career

Heffron began directing in 1971 with the television film Do You Take This Stranger? starring Diane Baker and Gene Barry . Pete Rugolo was nominated for an Emmy for the soundtrack . This was followed by directing some series episodes, in 1972 Heffron made his only documentary . Two years later he brought his first feature film to the big screen, the action film At Your Own Risk with George Peppard in the lead role. In 1976 he directed Futureworld - The Land of Tomorrow , the sequel to the science fiction film Westworld . He was nominated for the Hugo Award in 1977 . In 1985 he directed the first season of the internationally successful miniseries Torches in the Storm based on the novel The Heirs of Cain by John Jakes . In 1995 he retired from the television business.

Heffron was married three times. He died in Seattle on August 27, 2007 at the age of 76.
