A dimethyl ether-propane mixture , DMEP for short, is a chemical mixture which u. a. is used in cryosurgery . For example, warts are frozen with it. The DMEP is initially under high pressure . By evaporation of the mixture there is a rapid cooling to z. B. below −50 ° C. The wart tissue dies on contact with the cold mixture of substances (process of necrosis ).
