Dimitar Petrov (Artist)

Dimitar Petrow ( Bulgarian Димитър Петров , born April 18, 1969 in Kyustendil ) is a Bulgarian artist .

Life

After attending the Art High School in Sofia, Petrov studied at the National Art Academy in Sofia , specializing in wall painting and graduated in 1996. He has been a member of the Association of Bulgarian Visual Artists since 1997 . In 1999 he went on a study trip to India . In 2010 he received a scholarship at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris .

His works can be found in national museums and private collections as well as in international collections such as Germany, Greece, Switzerland, Italy, USA, Japan.

  • 1995 Artcenter Soros Prize for Young Artists on the occasion of the International Triennial for Painting, Sofia.
  • 1995 Award for painting at the International Art Biennale, Skopje, Macedonia.
  • 1995 Prize for painting at the exhibition 'Struma', Küstendil, Bulgaria.
  • 1996 First prize for painting at the International Triennial, Sofia, Bulgaria
  • 2001 First prize for wall art in the national competition 'The New Bulgarian Culture', Sofia, Bulgaria.
  • 2004 Prize for painting at the Balkan Quadriennial 'Myths and Legends', Stara Zagora, Bulgaria.
  • 2010 Prize in the competition of the Association of Bulgarian Artists with subsequent grant and exhibition in the Cité Internationale des Arts Paris
  • 2012 Prize for painting at the Biennale for Contemporary Bulgarian Art 'Friends of the Sea', Burgas, Bulgaria
  • 2013 Prize for painting at the national exhibition Struma, Kyustendil, Bulgaria
  • 2014 Painting Prize at the VII International Biennale for Small Forms, Pleven, Bulgaria
