Dingtag (spelling: dinc-tac , dingedach , dingstagen , dingstagk , dingdaegen ) is a term used in medieval jurisprudence . These were court days . There may be a continuity with the thing .

Basically, there were fixed court days on which the entire population was called to appear for court days. Traditionally, these were dates around Christmas or St. John's Day, which were considered compulsory days (Anniversary Day). Often times these were associated with markets and fairs, and usually these were the days when servants were hired and fired. The days of judgment often lasted for several days or were repeated at certain intervals. In addition, it was also possible to convene legal days within a certain period of time. Therefore, the term is also used for a fixed date (thing deadline). There were also other thing days, which varied from region to region.
