Diptych (music)

Musical works that consist of two parts are sometimes referred to as diptychs . The name is based on the term diptych from the visual arts for a two-part painting or a two-part relief panel.

• Diptych by Volker Felgenhauer , op. 40, 2011 for piano, percussion and strings
• Diptych (Tabu-Mana) by Bengt Hambraeus 1951/1952, two ritual dances for flute, oboe, viola, celesta and harpsichord
• St. John Passion and St. John Easter by Sofia Asgatowna Gubaidulina 2000/2002, a diptych about the death and resurrection of Christ
• Symphony diptych by Feliksas Romualdas Bajoras , award-winning in 1989
