Direc-T

Direc-T is a Turkish alternative rock band. The band members are Alex Tintaru, Bilge Kösebalaban and Özgür Peştimalci.

Band history

The name Direc-T (post in Turkish ) has its origins in a car accident the band had in 1997 when they hit a post.

Alex Tintaru joined the band as a bass player in 2000 . The band won their first music award in 2001 at the Roxy Music Awards . In 2002 the band performed together with David Byrne , Masse, Turnschuh-Kuppler and Karl Cox at the alternative festival in Istanbul . In 2003 they signed a record deal and then recorded their first studio album with Deniz Yılmaz ( Kurban ) as a producer. Her first album, Rus Kozmonatları , was released in June 2004 with 10 Turkish songs and one English song. The band also recorded videos for the songs "Dur Sakın Konuşma", "Hasret" and "Ama Sen Varsın".

They released their 2nd album Olympos in 2005. This album is also available in Russia and Ukraine .
