Direct User Access Terminal Service

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Direct User Access Terminal Service ( DUATS ) was a service offered by the FAA for pilots registered in the USA .

The service allowed direct access to weather and flight information and the creation of flight plans . The service was free to US registered pilots, flight dispatchers, and other authorized users. The service was discontinued on May 16, 2018. Internet services approved by the FAA, such as Flight Service 1800wxbrief, were already available beforehand , which enable an official briefing and posting of the flight plan. In addition, as before, a briefing can be called up by telephone at the next flight service station and a flight plan can be submitted.
