Dirk Karkuth
Dirk Karkuth (born January 9, 1962 in Gelsenkirchen ; † January 14, 2003 there ) was a German football player and coach .
As a player, Karkuth u. a. active at STV Horst-Emscher and at 1. FSV Mainz 05 .
From 1990 he first worked as a trainer at BSV Stahl Brandenburg and then as a manager and sports director at Rot-Weiss Essen . From 1996 to 1997 he coached the Scottish club FC St. Johnstone . He then returned to Germany and coached 1. FC Saarbrücken , 1. FSV Mainz 05 and Chemnitzer FC .
Dirk Karkuth died at the age of 41 from complications from a stroke .
