Dismantled is a music project and the stage name of the American Gary Zon . Originally from Russia, Zon was given piano lessons at an early age. From 2000 he experimented with electro-industrial . The aim was to create similar sounding music to that of Front Line Assembly .
history
In 2001, Gary Zon published various demos on MP3.com and attracted the interest of Dependent Records . They released "Purity" on their Septic II compilation and in late October 2001 Zon signed a contract with Dependent Records. On June 4, 2002, his self-titled debut album was released through Metropolis Records in North America and Dependent in Europe. This was followed by "Post Nuclear" in 2004 and "Standard Issue" in 2006, which indicated the continuous development of Zons. In 2007, with the release of When I'm Dead, Dismantled was put on hold. Zon devoted himself to other projects such as Aerodrone , which is more likely to be assigned to electroclash , or no.not.never. The future pop and alternative rock that can be heard here is carried by the vocalist TZA. In 2010, Zon came back with the announcement of new material for Dismantled. In June 2011 "The War Inside Me" was released.
style
The music style of Dismantled can be assigned to the electronic environment and is modeled on bands such as Front Line Assembly , Wumpscut or Nine Inch Nails . There are strong borrowings from electro-industrial , aggrotech and IDM , which are mixed with very melodic traces. Over the years the sound developed more and more into a threatening sounding dark electro .
