Disney Professor of Archeology
John Disney (1779–1857) founded the Chair of Archeology at Cambridge University in 1853 , which was named after him.
Today the position is associated with the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research founded in the 1990s . The chair has been filled with some of the most prestigious British archaeologists and is highly regarded.
