Ditzrod

Ditzrod is a single settlement in the urban area of Bad Laasphe in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ). Ditzrod is located in the district of Hesselbach and can be reached via a junction on Kreisstraße 36 . The Wahbachtal nature reserve is nearby . Hunting tours are organized from the estate and the surrounding private forest is managed.

history

In the Middle Ages it belonged to Perfgau . Later it belonged to the Biedenkopf district . The Lords of Breidenbach handed it over to the Counts of Wittgenstein in 1307. In 1810 Dizrod is described as "a manorial Vorwerk". It has been owned by the Sayn-Wittgenstein family for around 900 years.
