Division I (chess) 1961
The Division I in 1961 was the 12th Swedish team championship in chess ( Allsvenskan ) while the ninth discharge in a league mode with ascent and descent.

The competitions were held in Stockholm on November 4th and 5th .
Tournament course
The Stockholm team was in a class of its own and defended their title from the previous year. Just as clear was the last place Malmö Allmänna SK , while the second place between last year's climbers Schacksällskapet Manhem and the selection team from Dalarna was hard fought. In the end, a board point difference tipped the balance in favor of Dalarna.
