The church

The Protestant village church of Hottelstedt is in the district of Hottelstedt of the rural community Am Ettersberg in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish association Ramsla in the parish of Weimar of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany and is together with the cemetery on the list of cultural monuments in Am Etter Mountain .

History and equipment

The late Gothic village church with a square west tower dates from the 16th century. The pointed tower is slated and has a clock. The inside of the nave is painted white and makes the room simple and bright. In 2010 the roof was renovated and secured.

A predella from the first altar is still present from the initial configuration . The current portico altar dates from the 18th century. The three-part bell from 1695 was cast by Johann Christoph Geyer from Erfurt .

Only remnants remain of the organ , a work by Johann Conrad Vockarodt from the early 18th century.
