Division I (chess) 1956
The Division I in 1956 was the seventh Swedish team championship in chess ( Allsvenskan ), while the fourth discharge in a league mode with ascent and descent.
date and location
The competitions were held in Stockholm on November 3rd and 4th .
Tournament course
The decision for the championship was made in the last round, in which the leading Schackkamraterna Solna met Wasa SK , who had only been promoted last year . Wasa won and was thus Swedish champion, while Solna had to be content with second place again. The defending champion Stockholm Södra SS was relegated as well as the second promoted team, the national team from Skåne .
