Division I (chess) 1966

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Division I in 1966 was the 17th Swedish team championship in chess ( Allsvenskan ) and simultaneously the 14th staging in a league mode with ascent and descent.

date and location

The competitions were held in Stockholm on November 5th and 6th .

Tournament course

In the first two rounds, both the defending champion Lunds ASK and the promoted Östra Schacksällskap Stockholm each won 6: 4, so that the decision for the title was made in the last round, while the second promoted Schacksällskapet Manhem and the team from Gästrikland already ahead of schedule as relegated. Lund defeated the Stockholm led by Gideon Ståhlberg and thus defended his title. In 1967 Östra SS waived participation in the Allsvenskan, so that the SS Manhem still achieved relegation as third.
