Division d'Honneur 2008/09

The 2008/09 Division d'Honneur was the 58th season in the history of this New Caledonian football league. Last year's champion AS Magenta was able to defend its title in front of AS Mont Dore and thus qualified for the OFC Champions League . Record champions JS Baco and AS Témala Ouélisse from the Grand Terre Super Ligue and JS Chépénéhé from the Championnat de Lifou descended from the Division d'Honneur . Béthel Sport was able to prevent relegation by winning the relegation game against Trio Sport .

The game was not played in the usual 3-1-0 point system, but in a 4-2-1 point system, which is also often played in French amateur football.

Grand Terre

The first three of the Grand Terre Super Ligue qualified for the "playdowns". All other teams had to play against relegation in the "relegation playoff".

Lifou

In contrast to the Grand Terre Super Ligue, only the first qualified for the "Championship Playoff". The bottom of the table was relegated directly, the bottom of the table had to play a relegation game.

Playdowns

In the "playdowns", the three best teams from the Grand Terre Super Ligue and the winner of the Lifou relay played against each other for the championship title.

3 Since AS Kirikitr used a player ( Pierre Wajoka ) who did not have a valid gaming license, the Commission fédérale des statuts et règlements (CFSR) scored all games with 0: 3 and withdrew 6 points from Kirikitr.
