The tournament was divided into a preliminary round and a final round. The eight participating teams first played a simple round-robin tournament . The first four played for the title in Poule Haute , the last four in Poule Basse against relegation. The total of the team points (2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a defeat), then the direct comparison and finally the number of board points (3 points for a win, 2 points for a Draw, 1 point for a loss, 0 points for a loss without a fight). For the final placement, both the points from the preliminary round and the points from the final round were taken into account.
Game dates
The competitions were held on October 7 and 21, November 11 and 25, December 16, 2012, January 13, February 3, March 3 and 17 and April 21, 2013.
After the eighth round, all four teams still had a chance for the title, the table leaders Echternach and fourth-placed Differdange were only two points apart. After Echternach and Dudelange won in the 9th round, the direct comparison in the last round decided the title, which Echternach won with a narrow victory.
