Dixcove is a small fishing village on the coast of Ghana , in the settlement area of the Ahanta people in the western region , approx. 20 kilometers west of the city of Sekondi-Takoradi . The Fort Metal Cross , built by the British, is located on a hill on the outskirts .
Origin of name
The name Dixcove is derived from the original English name "Dick's Cove", ie "Richards' (short form" Dick's ") Bucht". Like many places on the coast of Ghana has Dixcove addition to its official English name even one Akannamen : Mfuma .
