Dnepropetrovsk maniacs

With Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs ( Ukrainian Дніпропетровські маніяки , Dnipropetrowski Manijaky , Russian маньяки Днепропетровские , Dnepropetrowskije Manjaki ) is in the media , a group of serial killers called that in June and July 2007, Dnipropetrovsk ( Ukraine ), killing 21 people. The case gained additional prominence through video recordings of the acts, one of which was published on the Internet.

Two 19-year-old locals, Viktor Saenko (Ukr: Віктор Саєнко , rus: Виктор Саенко ) and Ihor Suprunjuk (Ukr: Ігор Супрунюк , rus: Игорь Супрунюк / Igor Suprunjuk ) were tried for 21 murders. The third suspect Olexandr Hanscha (ukr: Олександр Ганжа , Russian: Александр Ганжа / Alexander Ganscha ) was involved in two armed robberies . On February 11, 2009, all of the defendants were found guilty. Suprunjuk and Sajenko were sentenced to life imprisonment , Hanscha to nine years. The application by Suprunyuk and Sajenko's lawyers for a new trial to the Supreme Court of Ukraine in November 2009 was denied.

Operations

After their arrest, the three youths confessed to having committed the murders so that they would have something to remember for life. They should all come from well-off parents' homes. They used hammers and screwdrivers in the murders. In a video that was recorded after a murder, you can see how the youths pack the murder tools back into the car, which is parked at the edge of the forest. The perpetrators did not follow a particular pattern in the murders. According to the police, the ruthlessness went so far that they murdered a heavily pregnant woman and cut out the fetus. To this day, some details of the background remain unclear.

The German band Ost + Front addressed the incident in their song "Dein Kanal".
