The Demirören Haber Ajansı  (DHA, German: Demirören-Nachrichtenagentur ) is a Turkish news agency founded in 1999 as Doğan Haber Ajansı after the merger of Milliyet Haber Ajansı and Hürriyet Haber Ajansı . In 2018 it was sold by Doğan Holding to Demirören Holding and the name was changed.

history

The agency was founded in 1999 by former employees of the merged Hurriyet News Agency and Milliyet News Agency. The agency belongs to the Doğan Media Group , the largest media group in Turkey. DHA has also reported in German since 2013.

In March 2018, the parent company was taken over by Demirören Holding . Its owner, Erdogan Demirören, is close to the Islamic conservative government.
