Dobri Kolew Terpeschew ( Bulgarian Добри Колев Терпешев ; born May 15, 1884 in Izvorovo , † January 26, 1967 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian politician.

Life

Terpeschew became a member of the Bulgarian Social Democratic Labor Party in 1902 . He was sentenced to death twice, but the sentences were not carried out. From 1925 to 1937 he was imprisoned in prison. From 1938 he was a member of the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party . He later took on the role of Secretary of the Central Committee. In 1941 he was sentenced to prison again, but managed to escape in 1943. He was one of the leaders of the Bulgarian partisans during World War II . From 1944 to 1950 he was a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of his party. At times he was a minister in the Bulgarian government.
