Doctor Butcher is a US -amerikanisches Heavy Metal project that by Savatage singer Jon Oliva and Chris Caffery was founded.
history
The Doctor Butcher project was founded by Jon Oliva and Chris Caffery after the two of them recorded a few songs together for fun. When the idea got more serious, the two first tried to get the album off to Atlantic Records . But they refused because they also had Savatage under contract at the time. Jon had left Savatage at short notice and Atlantic didn't want to move both bands. After the death of Jon's brother Criss , the project was almost on the brink of collapse and Jon returned to Savatage. Nevertheless it was possible to get a contract with Gun Records in 1995 and to release the CD there.
After Chriss Caffery returned to Savatage, the project was discontinued.
