The Dokkaebi is a mythical creature from the Korean world of fairy tales and myths. It is a human-like (sometimes one-eyed) goblin or forest goblin of mostly terrifying shape, but who also appears with humorous and grandiose features. The Dokkaebi is mostly depicted as a wild guy with a horn growing from his forehead. He wears animal skins (tiger or leopard skin) and uses a magic club with tips. The Dokkaebi loves the joke and plays tricks on bad people and punishes them, on the other hand, rewards good-hearted people, also through his magic powers.

In many respects, the Dokkaebi is similar to the Japanese mythical creature Oni and removes the Troll in Germanic mythology.
