Document lifecycle management

Document lifecycle management (DLM) (ger .: Document Lifecycle Management ) generally support the complete life cycle of documents from creation through use, storage, archiving and output to disposal by means of information lifecycle management - Document management - or enterprise content management - Systems.

The acronym DLM for Document Lifecycle Management is also the namesake of the DLM Forum Initiative of the European Commission. The DLM-Forum is the amalgamation of the European national archives and other archives that want to ensure the opening of archives for open access and long-term availability . The DLM Forum, which is funded with EU funds, publishes studies and codes of best practice and regularly organizes international conferences. The DLM Forum has published the MoReq standard (Model Requirements), which defines the metadata and functionality of records management solutions for Europe. The DLM Forum Foundation has been the sponsor of the DLM Forum since May 2010.
