Dolios
Dolios ( Greek Δολίος ) is an old slave of Penelope in Greek mythology , who accompanied her to Ithaca as a wedding gift from her father and looked after her garden there. He lived with his six brothers on the Laërtes estate .
Called home by his wife from work in the fields, along with his sons, Dolios happily greets Odysseus who has returned home . When the relatives of the suitors killed by Odysseus approached, he, his sons and Laërtes armed themselves and supported Odysseus in the fight against the advancing enemies.
Dolios is also the father of the faithless servant of Penelope, Melantho , who betrayed Penelope's little secret connected with her weaving to the suitors. One of his sons is the goatherd Melanthios .
