NFC West

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The NFC West is one of four divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC). Along with the American Football Conference (AFC), the NFC is one of the two conferences of the National Football League (NFL). These two conferences are each divided into four divisions, geographically according to the four cardinal points. The NFC and AFC are not divided according to geographic location. The New York Giants play in the NFC and the New York Jets , who use the same home stadium as the Giants, play in the AFC.

Since the NFL was restructured in 2002, the NFC West has played the San Francisco 49ers , the Seattle Seahawks , the Arizona Cardinals and the Los Angeles Rams (as the St. Louis Rams until 2015). In the 2010 season , the Seattle Seahawks became the first NFL team to win a division with a negative win-loss ratio (7: 9). From the 2011 season to the 2015 season , NFC West provided at least one team in the NFC Championship Game every year . In the 2013 season , two teams from NFC West faced each other with the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks.
