Enos Stanley "Stan" Kroenke (born July 29, 1947 in Columbia , Missouri ) is an American entrepreneur and billionaire.

Life

Kroenke graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Arts and Science and a Master of Business Administration . In 1983 he founded the construction company Kroenke Group , which develops and owns real estate, including several shopping centers. He is also chairman of THF Realty , an independent real estate company.

As chairman of Kroenke Sports Enterprise , he is co-owner of the Los Angeles Rams from the American football -Liga National Football League (NFL) and the sole owner of the Colorado Avalanche of the Hockey League National Hockey League (NHL), the Denver Nuggets from the basketball league National Basketball Association (NBA), the Colorado Mammoth from the Lacroseliga National Lacrosse League (NLL) and the Colorado Rapids from the Major League Soccer (MLS). Kroenke Sports Enterprise also owns the Pepsi Center in Denver and the regional sports broadcaster Altitude Sports and Entertainment .

In April 2007, Kroenke planned to take over the English first division soccer club Arsenal FC . The American wanted to offer 500 million pounds (734 million euros ) to buy the club, the Daily Mirror reported on its website. On March 30, 2009 it was announced that he had increased his previous 12.2 percent shares in the association to 20 percent. He made the biggest step in the takeover bid to Arsenal on September 30, 2009, when he increased his stake to 28.7 percent. He was now separated by 1.2 percent from being able to submit a takeover offer for the remaining shares.

In 2011, Kroenke acquired further blocks of shares from ex-board members Danny Fiszman and Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith and has since owned 62.89 percent of all Arsenal shares. On August 7, 2018, he acquired a further 30 percent of the Arsenal shares from co-owner Alisher Usmanov and thus took over complete control of the club.
