Quicksilva

Quicksilva was a British software company for computer games , which was best known for its software releases in the early 1980s . The company was founded by John Hollis and Nick Lambert.

Well-known games from the company included Jeff Minters Gridrunner (1983), Bugaboo (1983), a title licensed by the Spanish software company Indescomp SA, and Sandy White 's Ant Attack (1983). The most successful time the company had in the years 1983-1984, in which they brought the home computer version of Star Raiders (under the name Time-Gate (1983)) on the market and also the first home computer version of the game Battlezone (1984) published.

In 1987 the name of the company was bought by Grandslam Entertainment. The last game released under the name Quicksilva was Pac-Land (1989).

Quicksilva published games for the home computers Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum , but also for the VC20 , Dragon 32 , BBC Micro and Acorn Atom .
