Sean McVay (* 24. January 1986 ) is an American American football trainer. He is currently the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams in the National Football League (NFL).

Career

After McVay was active as a wide receiver at Miami University from 2004 to 2007, he began his coaching career in 2008 as assistant coach for the wide receivers at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers . In 2009 he went to the United Football League as a coach for the wide receivers. A year later he moved back to the NFL, to the Washington Redskins as assistant coach for the tight ends . There he worked his way up and became offensive coordinator in 2014 . On January 12, 2017, the Los Angeles Rams named him their new head coach . At the age of 30, he became the youngest head coach in NFL history.

After his first season with the Rams, McVay was named Coach of the Year and won the NFL Coach of the Year Award . After the 2018 season, McVay reached Super Bowl LIII with the Rams as the youngest head coach , which the team lost 13: 3 to the New England Patriots . In July 2019, the Rams extended McVay's contract prematurely until the 2023 season .
