Dolmen in the Cammin forest
The dolmens in the Cammin forest are 35 m apart, in Hohen Gubkow, north of Cammin , in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
The two enlarged dolmens with the Sprockhoff no. 347 and 348 were made between 3500 and 2800 BC. BC in the Neolithic as a megalithic system of the funnel beaker culture (TBK).
Forest 1
Forst Cammin 1 ( Lage ) is the northern dolmen . It is a north-east-south-west oriented, enlarged dolmen whose bearing stones have been completely preserved. Compared to the photo by E. Sprockhoff (1933), however, a supporting stone on the narrow side and a lower access stone have been moved. One of the two capstones is present, which was put back in 1933. The presumably angled entrance is in the northeast.
Forest 2
Forst Cammin 2 ( Lage ) is the southern dolmen, which, unlike Forst 1, is a north-west-south-east oriented, enlarged dolmen, the two capstones of which were reissued before 1933 and have bowls . One long side has three, the other two bearing stones. The north-western keystone is there, the south-eastern end of the chamber with the access is missing. Both capstones of the dolmen carry bowls, one 73 the other 18.
At Cammin there were two other systems, Cammin 1 and 2 (without the addition of “forest”), the types of which are unknown.
