Dolmen of Can Serra de l'Arca

Discovered in 1917 by Mossèn Jaume Vilaró, the dolmen of Can Serra de l'Arca II (also called Dolmen de la Costa de Can Brull) is located northeast of Aiguafreda in the Comarca Vallès Oriental in Catalonia in Spain . It is a rectangular stone box from the Chalcolithic (2200 to 1800 BC) excavated by the Center Excursionista de Vic (CEV) in 1917 and by R. Batista in 1962.

The north-south-oriented dolmen, which was mainly foundless, was used by shepherds and charcoal burners as a refuge and ransacked for a long time . The box is 2.9 m long, 1.2 m wide and 1.9 m high. Four side stones and the ceiling slab have been preserved from the megaliths. All are made from local limestone . The only remnants of the hill were about 8.5 m in diameter.

Ricard Batista found bones and pieces of teeth and three molars from adults as well as shapeless and decorative ceramic fragments.

Nearby is the Dolmen de la Serra de l'Arca I (also called Dolmen Serrat dels Moros).
