Dom is a funeral doom project founded in 2010 .

history

Iván “Belial” Manzano, who lives in Madrid, founded the cathedral as an instrumental side project to Poenarian Mist . Manzona, known as the drummer for various Spanish metal bands, initiated Dom as a purely instrumental funeral project during the recording of Poenarian Mists We Are Gods . The debut of the studio project Dom I was made available for download via Myspace in April 2010 and was later released as a regular album via The Dread Lair and Satanarsa Records . The following EP, Mud , was released in June via Strange Records as an MC and as a free download via the download label A Smack in All the Mouth Records operated by Manzano. Manzano kept the paired form of publication consisting of free downloads and physical publications in cooperation with companies such as Satanarsa Records or Dark Matter Records for subsequent publications.

style

According to the webzine Doom-Metal.com , the music presented by Dom is a "slow funeral doom". For a classifying comparison, reference is made to genre artists such as My Shameful , Nortt , Shape of Despair and Ea .

Riccardo Veronese describes the music for Doom-Metal.com as “something terrible”, which is “pleasant to hear” from the combination of instrumental Funeral Doom and downtempo . "Desperate keyboard minor chords interrupted by sustained guitar riffs " create a "nocturnal [effective] elegy ". Manzano himself refers to the desired combination of funeral doom, downtempo and creepy effects, "to create a unique universe of depression ." Meanwhile, all instruments except for a few effects and guitar recordings are sequenced .
