Doom-Metal.com is a British website specializing in the full spectrum of Doom Metal with a database , webzine and forum .

history

The site has existed in different versions since the 2000s. The first variant of the webzine resulted from the merger of the Doom-metal Netguide led by Kurt de Meulemeester and the # Doom-metal homepage maintained by Aldo Quispel . The first incarnation of the webzine, managed by Quispel until 2007, was put online as a result of the joint initiative to support additional employees. The webzine went through long periods of inactivity under Quispel. After Quispel resigned his position as editor-in-chief , manager and webmaster in 2007 , Arnstein Pettersen took over this function, which was later divided between Giovanni Guarnieri, Bertrand Marchal and Georgia Weidenhof. The website was updated and redesigned by Stijn van Cauter . Dominik Sonders and Mike Liassides joined the editorial team in 2013. In April 2014 Marchal resigned from his position as webmaster and handed it over to Liassides.

Employee

The site had approximately 30 employees from the UK, United States, Belgium, Italy, Norway, Israel, Canada, Malaysia, Germany, New Zealand and France as of April 2020. Over the years of the webzine's activity, various people active in the Doom scene have contributed to Doom-Metal.com as reviewers and interviewers. In addition to Stijn van Cauter from Until Death Overtakes Me and The NULLL Collective , already mentioned as designer, Riccardo Veronese from Aphonic Threnody , Arrant Saudade and Towards Atlantis Lights and Kostas Panagiotou from Crippled Black Phoenix , Pantheist and Wijlen Wij or the author of the Doom Metal Lexicanum Aleks Evdokimov.
