history
Stijn van Cauter initiated Until Death Overtakes Me, originally Macabre Destiny, in 1999 as a solo project with various guest musicians. A large number of the project's releases appeared on van Cauter's label Nulll Records . Until Death released Overtakes Me occasionally on other labels such as Firebox Records , Marche Funebre Productions or Dusktone . In 2011 van Cauter temporarily stopped producing other music. In 2016 he reactivated Until Death Overtakes Me with a number of download singles, and more albums and compilations followed.
style
Until Death Overtakes Me's music is known as Funeral Doom, which uses elements from Dark Wave and Ambient . The singing is described as a typical growling , while the percussion is said to be barely there. The guitar playing is described as booming and the use of the keyboard is compared to the sound of a church organ.
