Domenico Malipiero (* 1445 ; † 1513 ) was a Venetian admiral and politician .

Malepiero was born in Venice in 1445 as the eldest son of Francesco di Fantino and Polissena Garzoni di Andrea . He first worked in business, but then took up a military career in the fleet. In 1480 he married Paola Donà di Pietro di Marco; but no offspring resulted from the marriage. He held various offices, he was z. B. Fleet Commissioner (it. Provveditore della flotta , provveditore delle cose del mar ), he was also temporarily a member of the Council of Ten (it. Consiglio dei dieci ).

Malipiero is best known for the Chronicle Annali veneti ascribed to it , which provides extensive and reliable information about the social and political life of Venice for the period between 1457 and 1500 . Whether Malipiero was actually the author is disputed.
