Dominici is an Italian-American progressive metal band formed in 2005 by ex- Dream Theater singer Charlie Dominici .

Band history

Dominici was founded as a solo project by the former dream theater singer Charlie Domici , who set up the project in 2005. That year he released the purely acoustic album O3 A Trilogy: Part 1 . For the second work O3 - A Trilogy: Part 2 he received support from the brothers Brian (guitar) and Yan Maillard (drums), Ricardo Atzeni (bass), and Americo Rigoldi (keyboards). The third part O3 A Trilogy: Part 3 , which was released in 2008, was recorded with the same line-up .

Dominici was the opening act for three Dream Theater concerts of the Chaos in Motion Tour , which took place in Croatia , Hungary and Austria . In 2011, Lucio Manca from Solid Vision replaced Ricardo Atzeni, who had left the company.

Music genre

Dominici's first album is an acoustic album that was completely recorded and sung by Charles Dominici. Parts 2 and 3, on the other hand, are in progressive metal style. Musically, parts 2 and 3 in particular are very much based on Dream Theater. The basis of the music is Power Metal , which has been progressively prepared with numerous elements such as solos and long instrumental parts. Most of the titles are too long. The three parts are connected by socially critical texts that deal with the apocalypse.

The album name is based on the chemical formula O 3 for ozone . The three concept albums are about a religious group that is doing everything possible to usher in the end of humanity. In between there is a good policeman who tries to stop the bringer of the apocalypse trained by the sect. In the last part, the gods return to earth and ring in the apocalypse. They reveal that humanity was just part of another of their plans to preserve the DNA . In the end, Adam is chosen to be the only one to carry on the DNA. The story ends in Genesis .
