Domovinski pokret ( German: Heimatbewegung ), with full name: Domovinski pokret Miroslava Škore ( German: Heimatbewegung Miroslav Škoros ), DPMŠ for short , is a political party in Croatia . It was founded on February 29, 2020 by the former HDZ member Miroslav Škoro , is skeptical of the EU and is classified as national conservative , right-wing populist to right-wing radical.

history

In the 2019/2020 presidential election , Škoro, as a non-party candidate, received 24.45% of the vote in the first ballot and thus narrowly missed participation in the second ballot. In February 2020, he founded his new party to run in the 2020 parliamentary elections . He allied himself with other HDZ renegades who previously belonged to the extreme right wing of the party.

In May 2020, he said that a coalition with the HDZ or the SDP was out of the question for him. He regards the bringing forward of the elections to July 2020 as a bad, unconstitutional and illegal decision. The ruling party wants to prevent citizens from voting in the autumn when an economic collapse becomes visible. Later, however, it was heard that a coalition with the HDZ was conceivable, provided that the latter parted ways with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković or banished him to the second row.

Election results

Domovinski pokret ran for the first time in the Sabor elections on July 5, 2020 and suddenly became the third strongest force in the new parliament.
